Community Hunger Solutions is hiring! CHS is a community-focused hunger relief organization that connects locally produced food with families who face barriers to access. As the Warehouse Assistant and Driver, you will be on the front lines of CHS’ work picking up farm donations, delivering to pantries and other distribution sites, and helping keep the warehouse space tidy and organized. Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with min. 5 years driving experience and clean driving record
Ability to lift 35# while in a crouched/squat position
Must interact with farm and pantry personnel in a kind and respectful manner (this is the best part of the job!)

Detailed job description:
This position is part time and seasonal, requiring 10-15 hours per week July through February and 8-10 hours per week March through June. As Warehouse Assistant/Driver, your responsibilities will include assisting in the pickup of produce donations on Tuesdays (negotiable - CHS has had success with volunteers in this role as well), delivering weekly pantry donations on Wednesdays and spending two hours per week assisting with cleaning the warehouse space. An outline of your weekly activities are as follows (Peak season (July - February)/Off Season (March - June)):

Tuesdays: 4 to 8 hours starting at 8am/ every other week or once per month
Load empty boxes into CHS van, drive with another individual to partner farms to pick up produce donations, return to Food Enterprise Center and unload by noon. Communicate the types and approximate quantities of donated items to Program Manager. Manage 12pm to 4pm volunteer shifts to sort and re-package donated items onto orders for Wednesday delivery.

Wednesday: 3-6 hours 9am - 3pm/ deliveries shift to every other week
Load weekly deliveries into CHS van, deliver to pantries and other delivery points, pick up empty boxes from pantries, return to Food Enterprise Center, unload empty boxes, blankets, and any refused items, put away.

Flex day: additional 2-4 hours weekly/ not needed
Sweep warehouse space, discard food that is/will be out of date into designated disposal places, take out garbage and recycling, wipe down sorting tables and other surfaces, wash weekly dishes, any misc. cleaning needed
