Valid driver’s license with min. 5 years driving experience and clean driving record
Ability to lift 50# and move heavy boxes while in a crouched/squat/bent over position
Must interact with farm and pantry personnel in a kind and respectful manner (this is the best part of the job!)
$10-12/hour depending on experience
Detailed job description:
This position is part time and provides 10-15 hours weekly. As Warehouse Assistant/Driver, your responsibilities will include assisting in the pickup of produce donations on Tuesdays, delivering weekly pantry donations on Wednesdays and Fridays, and spending two hours per week maintaining a clean warehouse space. You can structure your weekly routes based on your availability provided they fall within the times outlined below.
Tuesday: 2-3 hours starting at 8am
Load empty boxes into CHS van, drive with another individual to partner farms to pick up produce donations, return to Food Enterprise Center and unload by 11am
Wednesday: 4-6 hours starting no earlier than 10am and ending no later than 4pm
Load weekly deliveries into CHS van, deliver to pantries and other delivery points, pick up empty boxes from pantries, return to Food Enterprise Center, unload empty boxes, blankets, and any refused items, put away
Friday: 2-4 hours starting no earlier than 8am and ending no later than 2pm
Load Friday deliveries into CHS van, deliver, pick up empty boxes from pantries, return to Food Enterprise Center, unload van and put everything away
Flex day: additional 2 hours weekly ending no later than 10am Monday, Thursday or Friday
Sweep warehouse space, discard food that is/will be out of date into designated disposal places, take out garbage and recycling, wipe down sorting tables and other surfaces, wash weekly dishes, any misc. cleaning needed
